Growing up in Seattle Washington, I had a mostly unartistic childhood, rejecting any ideas that I might be remotely artistically inclined. Instead, I dedicated myself to athletics. Training everyday in gymnastics and ultimate frisbee lead me to form a strong mind-body connection that became the keystone to my technical prowess on the potter's wheel. I discovered pottery in 2019 as a junior at Roosevelt High School, and was instantly enthralled by the hypnotic rhythm of the potter's wheel. After some raku firings I found myself madly in love with everything clay related. Since graduating high school, I have fully committed myself to a life filled with pottery. By working as a full time studio tech at the Clay Corner in Ballard WA on top of being an active artist, I've been able to become a part of the local pottery community while continuing my ceramic education through practical work experience.
